Hi all. i received today my new hp envy 17-j010el. the recovery partition is present [recovery d:], but seem not recognized. hp recovery manager say: "recovery partition has been removed - the recovery media creation option is no longer available".. I have found the solution to recreate the hp recovery partition only if u have the recovery disc with u. for me, the hp recovery partition can be created if i choose the restore factory image in the hp recovery manager (which they use softhink). so back up your entire hard disk as it will reformat the hard drive and make it just like the first.
Now i want to create recovery discs, but when i click on recovery manager to create recovery discs, it says that recovery partition not found. close disc creator and contact hp. i know that the recovery partition is intact, and i haven't touched it. i have also tried setting recovery partition as active and it has worked fine for me.. Hp pavilion pcs and laptops offer a built-in recovery partition to restore your computer to the factory default settings. often this partition is hidden and invisible to you under your system information. you can access this hidden partition and start the recovery process through windows or by repeatedly pressing "f11" during boot.. The recovery partition in an hp desktop or laptop computer is a specific chunk of your hard drive set aside for important system files. if the main partition on your hard drive crashes or becomes corrupt, you can boot into the recovery partition and perform tasks that allow you to restore your computer to the exact way it was working on an earlier date..
